It has been a busy term at Gwynjim, on the 9th November, 50 of our gymnasts took part in the Gymspire competition in Llandrillo, with success across the age groups. Gymspire is a new competition developed by Welsh Gymnastics, to allow more children to take part. It was open to all Bronze club members of British Gymnastics. Unusually in this event children were not grouped by the hours which they train, and therefore there was a large variation in the level of gymnasts taking part. All our children gave 100% and were so well behaved. We were very proud of them.

Three girls from the club took part in an advanced girls 4 piece competition in Llandudno in December. They took home 1st and 3rd in the Floor and 1st and 2nd in the Vault, a tremendous result.

Alys Banham was selected for the North Wales Development squad in September, and she will now spend the next year attending training sessions across North Wales. The selection process was extremely tough as it is based on multiple strength and conditioning exercises. Well done Alys. We hope to take gymnasts to the trials again next year.

Two male gymnasts attended the Wrexham boys beginners competition in October, receiving a 2nd place in the 6 years and under category, and a 4th place in the 9 years and under category. This was the clubs first experience of this competition and again, we hope to take more children to this competition next year now we know what to expect!
